External Financial Reporting – Quality Assurance – Executive Director

The objective of the External Financial Reporting Quality Assurance Program (QA) is to assist with mitigating the risk of reporting errors and provide ongoing assurance to management on the integrity of external reporting. The scope of QA Program is External Financial Reporting which includes, U.S Regulatory Financial Reporting, SEC Filings, and other US GAAP financial reporting. Key program elements include Risk Assessment, Annual Planning, Review Execution and Management Reporting. The External Financial Reporting Quality Assurance Charter and Framework provides associated details to drive delivery of consistent and uniform approach of QA review activities.

As a Quality Assurance – Executive Director within the team, you will manage the end-to-end program elements, including annual planning and execution of quality assurance reviews, which are aimed at mitigating the risk of external reporting errors through additional independent review & validation.

Job responsibilities

• Partner with and influence senior stakeholders across Corporate Finance, Line of Business Controllers, Risk, Operations, Technology, and Data teams to drive a best-in-class QA program
• Drive end-to-end execution discipline across the QA lifecycle, including test strategy design, risk assessments, test plan development and execution, results analysis, and documented conclusions
• Lead, mentor, and develop a global QA team (testers and QA leads), setting clear objectives, establishing performance expectations, providing feedback/coaching, and fostering a strong risk and control culture across locations
• Represent QA in governance forums to provide senior management updates on progress, conclusions, risk implications and thematic findings 
• Develop and lead technology transformation agenda to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and consistency through automation
• Stay current with evolving industry and regulatory changes, analyzing their impact to business objectives, processes, and compliance

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

• Minimum 10 years related experience within External Audit, Internal Audit or External Financial Reporting
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP standards
• Strong analytical skills through experience with data analytics or similar processes
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to quickly understand complex subject matter and demonstrate critical thinking 
• Ability to challenge the status quo while maintaining relationships
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize 
• Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence stakeholders
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Knowledge of US Financial Regulatory reports such as FR Y-9C, FR Y-14Q, FFIEC 031 and related products
