Supplier Quality Engineer
Job description
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Conduct supplier visits, assessments, and audits to evaluate manufacturing capabilities, quality systems, and operational readiness for Fluid and Motion Control requirements.
- Review supplier quality processes and documentation, including supplier profiles, visit reports, audit findings, and corrective action plans.
- Participate in supplier design and development reviews to ensure alignment on critical dimensions, material specifications, performance requirements, and measurement methods.
- Define and communicate Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) requirements and support suppliers through qualification activities.
- Coordinate PPAP documentation, first article inspections, pilot production activities, and qualification requirements for localization projects.
- Monitor supplier quality performance during product launch and ongoing production, including quality metrics and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Analyze supplier quality data and provide regular performance feedback to suppliers.
- Partner with suppliers to resolve quality concerns through effective root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive actions.
- Verify implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions through on-site reviews and follow-up activities.
- Conduct supplier process audits, business reviews, and continuous improvement programs to enhance quality, reliability, and operational performance.
- Collaborate with engineering, sourcing, operations, and supplier partners to support successful product and business outcomes.

For This Role, You Will Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Significant experience in supplier quality, supplier development, manufacturing quality, or related disciplines within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with manufacturing processes such as casting, stamping, machining, springs, plastic injection molding, or similar production technologies.
- Knowledge of supplier qualification, quality auditing, PPAP, first article inspection, corrective action processes, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical requirements.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with global and cross-functional teams.
- Project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in English communication and standard business software applications.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality, accountability, and delivering reliable results.
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
- Experience supporting supplier quality activities within a multinational or global manufacturing organization.
- Lead auditor or internal auditor experience related to quality management systems.
- Familiarity with localization projects, new product introduction, and production launch activities.
- Experience applying structured problem-solving and continuous improvement tools.
- Knowledge of international quality standards and manufacturing best practices.
- Experience influencing suppliers and stakeholders to achieve sustainable quality improvements.
