To support our continued growth in Italy, we are seeking a Senior Project Sales Engineer.

This is a commercially accountable and strategically focused role at Level 2 within the C&I Project Sales organization. The position is responsible for leading the capture, protection, and conversion of Eaton‑specified tenders throughout the project execution phase. Acting as the primary commercial interface with major installers and general contractors, the Senior Project Sales Engineer manages the full Eaton product portfolio across Northern Italy, with a strong focus on the Lombardy and/or Veneto regions.

The role ensures project execution is fully aligned with Eaton’s specification strategy, while proactively identifying and converting non‑specified opportunities. This includes building and maintaining strong relationships with execution‑phase stakeholders, identifying untapped market potential, and influencing project specifications to position Eaton competitively.

Beyond technical and project engagement, the role carries full commercial ownership, including pricing strategy, cross‑functional coordination, and the delivery of key project intelligence to protect specifications, prevent erosion, and maximize Eaton’s commercial and technical value in final project outcomes.
The position will be based in Lombardy or Veneto, with the opportunity to support strategic consultants in adjacent regions.

What you’ll do:

• Qualify incoming leads and proactively prospect new project opportunities within the assigned territory
• Plan and manage territory and account strategies to support short‑ and long‑term growth
• Build and maintain strong relationships with priority execution‑phase stakeholders, including installers, panel builders, contractors, and agents
• Conduct detailed opportunity discovery, gaining a deep understanding of project scope, specifications, and decision‑making dynamics
• Lead the bid / no‑bid decision process and ensure timely communication with internal stakeholders
• Coordinate closely with Quotation Factory, Specification Engineering, and Engineering Back Office to develop compliant and competitive solutionsWork in constant collaboration with the agent network, leveraging local market intelligence
• Follow pre‑specified project opportunities, using insights provided by Application Engineering
• Ensure installer RFQs are aligned with approved and favorable panel buildersManage all commercial aspects of quotations for specified and pre‑specified tenders, including pricing strategy and margin protection
• Secure and, where needed, convert project specifications with defined contractors, consultants, and end usersIdentify and develop cross‑selling opportunities to extend the adoption of additional Eaton products and solutions
• Steer sales opportunities toward appropriate Eaton EWS and Direct Customers
• Design and present commercially viable, specification‑compliant project solutions
• Conduct regular business and pipeline reviews, including opportunity and quote management
• Ensure accurate handling of administrative activities and CRM updatesDrive continuous improvement through feedback, learning, and best‑practice sharing
• Represent Eaton by participating in industry events, fairs, and professional networking activities

Qualifications:

• High school diploma combined with relevant job‑related training or on‑the‑job experience, or a post‑secondary degree or diploma
• Minimum 3 years of experience within the Commercial & Institutional (C&I) project environment, ideally related to electrical installations, life safety systems, or similar fields
• Solid understanding of project‑based sales dynamics and execution‑phase stakeholders
• Proven network and established relationships with major installers and contractors within the assigned geographic area

Skills:

• Strategic thinker with resilience, adaptability, and effective time managementWorking knowledge of AutoCAD, CPQ/quoting tools, CRM/PRM systems

Eaton provides a competitive total rewards package based on applicable skills, knowledge and experience, and aligned with internal and external market practices. The annual salary range (including base salary and Sales Incentive Plan) for this role is EUR 55.200 – EUR 80.960 gross per year.
