As a General Technician, you’re not just maintaining the hotel’s physical safety and functionality – you’re spreading the light and warmth of hospitality by delivering memorable experiences that make the stay for every guest.
Responsibilities
Here's what you'll do during a typical day:
- Perform day-to-day general maintenance duties within the hotel rooms and public areas.
- Respond promptly to maintenance issues and emergency calls.
- Conduct regular inspection tours of the hotel to ensure all operating equipment is working correctly.
- Work closely with the Engineering Team on any projects or schedules.
- Maintain all tools, equipment, and working areas in proper condition.
- Follow all Health & Safety rules within the Department and the hotel.
- Demonstrate exceptional customer service when engaging with Guests
- Perform any other tasks as requested by the Chief Engineer to ensure the smooth operation of the hotel.
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.
- Good practical skills and knowledge of brush, roller and spray.
- Knowledge of specialized paint finishes preferred.
- Familiar with planned preventive maintenance and safety programmes.
- Able to work on own initiative with minimum supervision.
- To attain all departmental meetings and training classes.
- Flexible and team player.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required when performing work duties that may have the potential of risk to your health or safety. The hotel will provide the required PPE. Team members will be trained in the proper use and care of any assigned PPE. It is your responsibility to report defective, damaged or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly, to your manager.
Qualifications
We are looking for?
Education
- High School Certificate or equivalent.
- Technical Diploma/ITI Certificate in Electrical, Mechanical, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, or a related trade preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a General Technician, Maintenance Technician, or similar role.
- Previous experience in a hotel, hospitality, residential, or commercial property environment is an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and painting works.
- Ability to perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Familiarity with maintenance tools and equipment.
- Understanding of workplace health and safety procedures.
Preferred Certifications
- Electrical License/Certification (if applicable). HVAC/Refrigeration Certification.
- Health & Safety Training Certificates.
