Role Overview
• The Global Payroll team is seeking a VPR-level professional to support the governance, control, vendor oversight, and reporting activities that underpin the effective delivery of payroll services across the organization. This role is critical to maintaining a stable, well-controlled, and auditable payroll environment.
• The role serves as a key link between payroll operations, vendor management, controls governance, and management reporting. It supports the day-to-day oversight of payroll vendors, coordinates issue resolution and change activity, maintains control documentation and supporting evidence, and contributes to the production and governance of payroll KPI reporting for leadership and stakeholders.
• This position requires strong organizational discipline, control awareness, stakeholder management, and the ability to operate effectively in a complex, regulated, and change-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Governance and Vendor Oversight
• Support the day-to-day relationship with payroll vendors and external partners across Global Payroll activities.
• Track and coordinate open issues, service concerns, change requests, and interface-related matters to support timely resolution.
• Monitor follow-up actions and escalate risks or delays that could impact payroll delivery, service quality, or governance standards.
• Help maintain structured governance routines with vendors, including action tracking, meeting support, and documentation of outcomes.
• Partner with internal and external stakeholders to promote accountability, continuity, and service discipline across payroll operations.
Controls and Risk Management
• Support the execution and ongoing enhancement of the payroll control environment.
• Maintain control documentation, process evidence, and supporting materials required for a strong and auditable framework.
• Contribute to monthly control attestation activities, ensuring updates are accurate, timely, and appropriately evidenced.
• Assist with the upkeep of control-related procedures, review materials, and governance records.
• Help identify gaps, documentation issues, or process weaknesses and support remediation activities as needed.
Reporting and KPI Governance
• Support the production, validation, and governance of payroll KPI reporting for leadership and stakeholder forums.
• Help ensure reporting content is accurate, consistent, appropriately owned, and fit for management decision-making.
• Contribute to dashboard development, trend analysis, and recurring management information that provides visibility into payroll performance.
• Maintain reporting discipline by supporting version control, source validation, and governance of reporting outputs.
• Assist in preparing materials for stakeholder review, governance meetings, and leadership updates.
Stakeholder Management and Operational Support
• Build effective working relationships across Payroll, HR, Finance, Risk, Audit, Technology, and external vendors.
• Support coordination of activities that sit across operational payroll delivery, governance, reporting, and control execution.
• Provide structured support for recurring governance requirements and ad hoc requests tied to audits, reviews, issues, or leadership priorities.
• Help ensure that critical payroll governance activities are delivered consistently, transparently, and with appropriate documentation.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, operational resilience, and strong control discipline.
Required Qualifications
• Significant experience in operations, governance, controls, vendor management, or a related operational risk / governance environment. Experience in Payroll is a preference.
• Strong understanding of control frameworks, evidence management, documentation standards, and audit readiness.
• Experience managing or supporting third-party vendor relationships within a regulated or operationally sensitive environment.
• Proven ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders and manage competing priorities effectively.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear reporting and governance materials.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of accuracy and control discipline.
• Proficiency in management reporting, KPI production, and governance tracking.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working in a global payroll environment.
• Familiarity with outsourced payroll delivery models and associated vendor governance requirements.
• Experience supporting control attestations, reconciliations, management reviews, or audit-related documentation.
• Exposure to payroll reporting dashboards, metrics governance, and leadership reporting.
• Experience operating in a highly regulated financial services environment.
