Current Employees:

The Department of Marketing Technology & Analytics is currently seeking a full-time Manager, Marketing Information Architecture & User Experience.

SUMMARY

Owns how patients, students, fans, and donors find what they need across UHealth's digital properties, and owns the evidence that proves it works. Runs the enterprise user research program end to end, from platform and panel management through study design and synthesis, and translates findings into information architecture: taxonomy, navigation, content models, page types, and URL governance.

Increasingly the audience is also a machine. This role structures content so AI answer engines and AI-assisted navigation can parse and surface UHealth's providers, services, and locations accurately, and treats answer engine visibility as an architecture problem rather than a marketing tactic. Reports to the AVP of Marketing Technology and Analytics on an interim basis, and directs both internal specialists and implementation partner resources.

RESEARCH & EVIDENCE

  • Own the enterprise UX research program end to end: study design, participant recruitment, panel management, incentives, synthesis, and a searchable research repository the department can draw on

  • Own the research platform relationship: license utilization, contract terms, recruitment and incentive costs, and the build/buy decision on adjacent tooling; evaluate research vendors on demonstrated capability rather than on sales narrative

  • Run generative and evaluative studies: card sorting, tree testing, first-click testing, moderated and unmoderated usability, prototype testing, and live A/B and multivariate testing on in-market pages

  • Set the evidence standard for contested design decisions. When physicians, deans, or division heads hold strong views on site structure, resolve them with usability data and defensible findings rather than preference

  • Define and report experience KPIs: task success, findability, time to appointment, navigation abandonment, and search exit rate

INFORMATION ARCHITECTURE

  • Define and govern IA frameworks across all digital properties: taxonomies, navigation systems, content hierarchies, URL structures, and labeling conventions

  • Lead content modeling and page type architecture in Sitecore XM Cloud: component hierarchy, template definitions, field naming, and governance documentation serving UHealth, the Academy, Athletics, and Development

  • Own the migration IA workstream: legacy content inventory, content mapping, URL and redirect strategy, and phased migration sequencing

  • Own the taxonomy beneath the provider record: specialty, sub-specialty, condition, procedure, and location vocabularies that resolve to a single authoritative provider profile

  • Maintain governance artifacts: naming conventions, decision logs, sitemaps, redirect logs, and navigation models

AI & DISCOVERY

  • Structure content for machine consumption: schema.org markup, structured data, and content models that let AI answer engines resolve a provider, condition, or location correctly

  • Own answer engine optimization at the architecture layer, in partnership with the AEO Lab and SEO, so IA decisions improve visibility in AI-generated answers and not only in classic search results

  • Define and evaluate AI-assisted navigation and enterprise site search behavior, including how AI search surfaces and ranks clinical content, and run structured bake-offs between internal and agency concepts

  • Apply AI tooling to the IA work itself: content inventory classification, taxonomy gap analysis, redirect mapping, and research synthesis, with human validation of every output

  • Establish guardrails for AI-surfaced clinical content: accuracy, currency, and the compliance boundary on what may be represented to patients

PARTNER, STAKEHOLDER & TEAM LEADERSHIP

  • Direct implementation partner and agency resources on IA, research, and content workstreams: set deliverables, scope boundaries, and acceptance criteria, and prevent duplicate assignment across internal and partner staff

  • Own executive design review and change management: sequence validation from working review to steering committee to division heads, and secure sign-off before build rather than after it

  • Manage IA specialists and contractors: assign work, review deliverables, and hold quality against migration-critical timelines

  • Operate as product owner for the experience layer: maintain a prioritized backlog and make trade-off decisions with documented rationale

This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities as necessary.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years in UX research, information architecture, or content strategy, with demonstrated ownership of both research and architecture rather than one in service of the other

  • Experience owning IA on a large-scale website migration or enterprise CMS implementation: content modeling, taxonomy design, and redirect governance

  • Demonstrated ability to run a research program independently, from study design through synthesis, including participant recruitment and panel logistics

  • Proven record of resolving contested design decisions with evidence in an environment of competing stakeholder authority

  • Experience directing external agency or implementation partner resources: scope control, deliverable definition, and quality accountability

  • Working knowledge of how taxonomy, URL structure, metadata, and structured data affect both traditional search and AI answer engine visibility

  • A hands-on practitioner, not a manager of people who use the tools. Works daily in research and user testing platforms, A/B and multivariate testing, wireframing and prototyping, taxonomy and journey mapping, analytics, and crawl and audit tools

  • An early adopter of AI with a working practice to show. Uses AI routinely for research synthesis, content classification, taxonomy analysis, and prototyping, and can speak candidly to where it fails

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with AI search or answer engine visibility: schema strategy, structured data, or platforms such as Coveo or Google Vetex

  • Proficiency with research and IA platforms such as UserTesting, dScout, Optimal Workshop, or Treejack, including the ability to evaluate them commercially

  • IAAP accessibility certification (CPACC or WAS), or demonstrable WCAG 2.1 AA fluency

  • Academic medical center or health system background, with provider data or clinical taxonomy exposure

How Openbound evaluates sponsorship

Visa history uses official U.S. Department of Labor H-1B LCA disclosure data and USCIS H-1B petition history. Green card history uses DOL PERM disclosure data. Each is read for the employer as a whole, for roles like this one, and for this location, weighted toward the most recent fiscal years.

An employer is matched to its filing entities by verified legal name and reviewed aliases; a match is never made on a name resemblance alone. Where no verified entity can be matched, the page says so and draws no conclusion from the absence. 119 filing titles were examined for this employer.

What this posting states outranks history in both directions, and an employer's published policy outranks past filings. Filing history reflects past behavior; it is not a promise of sponsorship for this opening, and none of this is legal advice.
