Sr TPM, Perception, Prime Air Vehicle Software

Come work on the Amazon Prime Air Perception Team!
The Prime Air team is seeking a Sr Technical Program Manager (TPM) with a strong results-oriented focus to own and drive the development of our autonomous perception systems. This role will lead programs that expand our operational envelope into challenging conditions like night operations, adverse weather (rain, snow), and complex environments, while simultaneously driving algorithmic efficiency improvements across our perception stack.
You will work with teams across Seattle and Europe to:

• Drive the technical roadmap for perception capabilities that enable safe autonomous flight in expanding operational conditions
• Lead cross-functional programs to optimize perception algorithms for improved efficiency and reduced computational overhead
• Coordinate integration of new perception capabilities with broader autonomy systems
• Partner with research teams to evaluate and implement computer vision and machine learning approaches
• Drive certification efforts for perception systems in accordance with aviation safety standards
• Manage technical dependencies and alignment across international engineering teams

Key job responsibilities

• Define and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of complex, cross-functional programs, including mission, vision, objectives, success criteria, and resource planning across multiple teams.
• Drive alignment between business and technical stakeholders by facilitating crisp decision-making, setting priorities, and communicating context for technology choices and trade-offs.
• Identify and mitigate risks proactively by analyzing system architectures, understanding dependencies and boundary conditions, and closing gaps in requirements, testing, and cross-team collaboration.
• Establish and maintain program metrics, regularly reviewing data to ensure visibility into progress, surface issues early, and keep initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
• Author and present narratives and program documents to senior leadership, translating complex technical topics into clear recommendations and actionable plans.

Our team tackles fascinating challenges at the intersection of radar technology, distributed computing, and real-time detection algorithms, creating solutions that have never been built before. As we scale Amazon's drone delivery to new locations, you'll help shape both the technical direction and team culture that will define this transformative service for years to come.

Basic qualifications

• 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
• 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
• 3+ years of software development experience
• 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
• Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred qualifications

• 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
• Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
• Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
