We have an opportunity for a Controllership Specialist to join us at Honeywell, in Bucharest, where you will be handling key accounting tasks such as General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Inter-Company transactions, VAT reporting, AP/AR, etc. The role ensures accurate journal processing and compliance with accounting standards and audit requirements. By preparing reports and reconciliations, the specialist supports decision-making and financial integrity, while also resolving discrepancies and meeting internal and country-specific deadlines.

This is a hybrid role, 3 days at the office and 2 days work from home model.

Key responsibilities

• Performs accounting activities which may include General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Inter-Company, VAT reporting transactions, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Processes and check journals according to the defined procedures and accounting principles and legislation
• Produces routine reports, schedules, and summaries for management
• Scans statements, ledgers, and accounts to identify unusual or overdue items and selects the correct procedure to verify or adjust discrepancies or errors
• Responds to specific questions from business stake holders and clarifies situations when necessary
• Provides accurate analysis of reconciliation records to third party documents
• Ensure all journal entries comply with internal and external audit specifications
• Meet country and Honeywell internal deadlines
• Produce qualitative BS account reconciliations

Key skills and qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related fields
• Strong English language skills
• 2 - 3 years of experience in finance, accounting, or reporting; experience in General Accounting is considered an advantage
• Professional skills and knowledge:
• Knowledge of US GAAP / knowledge of IFRS is a plus
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, etc.)
• Different ERPs may be a plus
