As Amazon rapidly becomes the world's largest consumer of corporate services, our Global Corporate Procurement (GCP) team in partnership with Amazon Connect is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Specialist to drive strategic sourcing and vendor-migration delivery across our multiple global telecom operators

Strategic Sourcing Specialists manage strategic sourcing engagements as a central team supporting a wide range of Amazon and subsidiary business units. In this role you will drive sourcing strategy and critically drive the resulting in optimization of voice traffic. You will coordinate directly with internal and external stakeholders on the technical steps each migration depends on, own delivery against committed dates, and bring strong business acumen to lead cost optimization initiatives.

Key job responsibilities
As a Strategic Sourcing Specialist, you will support complex sourcing projects from start to finish. This will involve closely engaging with a diverse array of internal and external stakeholders to identify sourcing strategy - that balances business needs, effort, and efficiencies. You will also own the execution that follows turning approved analysis into completed carrier migrations.

• Review spend data and market trends for key indirect spend categories
• Participate in cross-functional team meetings to align on sourcing priorities and requirements
• Conduct market research and prepare RFP documents for upcoming sourcing projects
• Manage the RFP process, evaluate proposals, negotiate commercial deal terms and contracts, and create award recommendations
• Contribute to the development of category management plans
• Provide procurement analytics and insights to support data-driven decision making
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in strategic sourcing
• Own the readiness of every migration, driving the prerequisites (port-out approvals, migration documentation, porting-queue placement) to completion so each one is fully prepared before the migration proceeds
• Anticipate schedule risk and actively drive stakeholders to resolve dependencies

About the team
Key coverage areas: Technology (Telecom, Software, Hardware, Cybersecurity, Network) This role is embedded with the Amazon Connect telephony team through the GCP partner program, with telecom vendor sourcing and migrations as its primary focus.

Basic qualifications

• BS degree, or BA degree
• 3+ years of strategic sourcing experience
• Experience with spend analysis and category management across indirect spend categories

Preferred qualifications

• Experience negotiating complex agreements with a firm understanding of legal terminology and reasoning
• Experience working in large teams or at a national/multinational organization, or experience working in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment
• Experience managing multiple projects, prioritizing, planning, and managing time
• MBA, or MS degree
• 3+ years of procurement experience
• Experience translating customer needs into business requirements
• 3+ years of in-depth experience in best-in-class procurement practices (category management, benchmarking, should-cost models, RFX, reverse auction, contracting, etc.) ideally in Technology procurement
• Passionate self-starter with the highest integrity and ethics

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
