Position: Principal, Global Sourcing 資深跨境採購經理

What will you do?

• Conduct market research to identify trending and in-demand products to capture the sales opportunity in the market.
• Source new suppliers overseas, ensuring product quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure favorable pricing, payment terms, and supply reliability.
• Develop and execute buying strategies aligned with sales goals and inventory needs.
• Evaluate and refine product assortments based on customer trends and performance insights.
• Manage purchase orders, shipping arrangements, and import documentation for smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify high‑potential global products through data-driven research, customer insights from the Coupang app, and Taiwan market trend analysis.
• Source and evaluate overseas suppliers across Asia, U.S., or Europe to enhance category competitiveness, ensuring quality, cost, and delivery reliability aligned with Rocket Overseas operations
• Lead end‑to‑end negotiation on pricing, payment terms, MOQs, lead time, and return policies to maximize margin and improve supply chain efficiency.
• Build and maintain long-term supplier partnerships, implementing performance scorecards to track OTIF (On Time In Full), defect rate, and responsiveness.
• Develop strategic buying plans aligned with sales forecasts, inventory health, seasonal demands, and customer WOW expectations.
• Curate category assortments that reflect Taiwan customer preferences and competitive landscape, continuously optimizing the product mix based on sales performance and conversion rates.
• Collaborate with logistics, customs, compliance, and finance teams to ensure import documentation accuracy and smooth cross-border operations.
• Monitor product lifecycle metrics such as sell-through rate, GMV contribution, and margin performance, adjusting sourcing strategies proactively.
• Maintain thorough records of sourcing activities and present periodic business updates, insights, and recommendations to management.

Essential Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in procurement, buying, or global sourcing, ideally within e-commerce, retail, or consumer goods environments.
• Proven track record in overseas supplier management and contract negotiation, with strong ability to secure cost‑effective and reliable supply.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and data interpretation for assortment planning and decision-making.
• Familiarity with import regulations, cross‑border compliance, and logistics processes.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple categories and projects in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Fluent in written and spoken Chinese and English; strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with Korean, Japanese, or Southeast Asian suppliers and consumer product trends.
• Proficiency in SQL or BI tools for advanced data analysis and performance tracking.
• Prior experience in an app‑first or rapid-delivery e-commerce model.
• Knowledge of supplier auditing, quality inspection processes, or product certification standards.
• Additional language abilities (e.g., Japanese, Korean).
• Strong business acumen with the ability to identify new sourcing opportunities and optimize profitability.
• Demonstrated ownership mindset and bias for action in ambiguous or rapidly evolving environments.
