Job description

Team Overview

You've seen the virality and impact of #TikTokMadeMeBuyIt. Come join the team that is helping scale that phenomenon, and pioneer Content & Creator commerce in the US. We aim to bring discovery, inspiration, and joy back to shopping by making TikTok the leading, on-trend commerce platform of choice for brands, creators, and shoppers. We are an entrepreneurial team, passionate about shaping the future of shopping.

About the Role

With more than 1 billion loyal users globally, TikTok is the ideal platform to deliver a brand new and exciting shopping experience to our users. TikTok is already the place where trends first surface, and where brands, creators, and consumers are already connected in meaningful ways. We are looking for passionate and talented people to join our commercial team in the US, to help build an e-commerce ecosystem that is innovative, secure, and intuitive for our users and partners alike.

About the Team

The JLRN team is responsible for growing TikTok Shop’s Jewelry, Luxury Resale, Art & Nature businesses in the U.S. market. We support both local-to-local sellers and cross-border sellers, working closely with internal teams to develop category strategies, improve seller operations, and build a sustainable commerce ecosystem.

We are looking for a Seller Strategy & Operations Lead to establish and lead a centralized strategy function for the JLRN business. This role will connect seller and category needs with internal capabilities, translate business priorities into executable strategies, and ensure that teams and resources are focused on the highest-impact opportunities.

Responsibilities

Seller and Business Strategy:
- Develop the overall seller strategy for JLRN, including seller segmentation, lifecycle management, growth programs, and resource allocation.

- Identify key seller challenges and business opportunities through performance data, seller feedback, and market insights.

- Translate strategic priorities into clear initiatives, operating plans, success metrics, and execution roadmaps.

Build scalable playbooks and operating mechanisms that can be adopted across different categories and seller segments.

Campaign Strategy

  • Own campaign strategy for the JLRN business, including campaign positioning, seller selection, incentive design, participation mechanics, and performance targets.
  • Partner with category and account management teams to build campaign calendars aligned with business priorities and seller needs.
  • Evaluate campaign effectiveness and continuously improve strategies based on seller participation, content supply, traffic efficiency, and commercial results.
  • Balance short-term GMV growth with long-term seller engagement and category health.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Serve as the central point of coordination between the JLRN business and cross-functional partners, including Product, GNE, Marketing, Creator, Governance, Data Science, and other internal teams.
  • Consolidate seller and business requirements, clarify priorities, and translate operational pain points into actionable product or program solutions.
  • Influence product roadmaps and internal resource allocation by providing structured business cases, impact assessments, and seller insights.
  • Establish clear communication and governance mechanisms to drive alignment, accountability, and timely delivery across teams.

Team and Resource Management

  • Lead and develop a high-performing seller strategy and operations team.
  • Define team priorities, roles, goals, and ways of working based on evolving business needs.
  • Manage resources across strategic projects, campaigns, seller programs, and urgent business priorities.
  • Build effective planning, review, and performance-management mechanisms to ensure strong execution and measurable outcomes.
  • Coach team members and create opportunities for professional growth and broader business ownership.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in strategy, business operations, seller operations, e-commerce, marketplace, or a related field developing seller, merchant, campaign, or marketplace growth strategies

- Proven experience leading teams and managing complex, cross-functional initiatives.

- Strong strategic thinking with the ability to turn ambiguous business problems into structured plans and practical solutions, as well as strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to prioritize opportunities, evaluate impact, and support decision-making.

- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence partners across different functions and levels.

- Strong ownership, sound judgment, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

How Openbound evaluates sponsorship

Visa history uses official U.S. Department of Labor H-1B LCA disclosure data and USCIS H-1B petition history. Green card history uses DOL PERM disclosure data. Each is read for the employer as a whole, for roles like this one, and for this location, weighted toward the most recent fiscal years.

An employer is matched to its filing entities by verified legal name and reviewed aliases; a match is never made on a name resemblance alone. Where no verified entity can be matched, the page says so and draws no conclusion from the absence. 2,134 filing titles were examined for this employer.

What this posting states outranks history in both directions, and an employer's published policy outranks past filings. Filing history reflects past behavior; it is not a promise of sponsorship for this opening, and none of this is legal advice.
