Structural Steel Quality Inspector

Shift: 1st Shift
Starting Pay: $31.00/hour (higher based on experience)
Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Structural Steel Quality Inspector to support quality control in a structural steel fabrication facility. Experienced senior-level structural steel fitters or fabricators with strong inspection and layout knowledge may also be considered.
Responsibilities
Inspect fabricated structural steel throughout the production process
Perform in-process and final quality inspections
Verify dimensions, layout, and component placement
Compare materials and completed work against shop drawings and specifications
Identify, document, and follow up on nonconforming work in accordance with AWS D1.1/D1.5
Work with fabrication and production teams to correct quality issues
Support quality improvement efforts and process improvements
Participate in annual AISC quality-control audits
Requirements
3–5 years of structural steel layout and fabrication experience
Ability to read and interpret fabrication and construction drawings
Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication and quality requirements
Welding certification in AWS D1.1 and/or D1.5 preferred
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify dimensional and fabrication issues
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 1st Shift
Overtime available on Saturdays
