The Opportunity:

CACI’s Agile Solution Factory (ASF) is hiring a Tech Writer for our cybersecurity team based in Ashburn, Va.  Join this passionate team of industry-leading individuals supporting the Best Practices in Agile Software Development for the Department of Defense.

The ideal candidate should be an experienced, fast-learning, organized, and productive technical writer who can adapt to an environment running a mature Scrum-based Agile software development program.  The person who fills this position will embed directly within a cyber team and will be responsible for all documentation requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Technical project documentation, reports, brochures, manuals and training material documentation for a wide range of uses.
• Ownership of iterative updates to product user manuals, including graphics, formatting, editing, and the deployment of all material to production.
• Conform to all project standards to ensure high quality documentation.
• Manage project team documentation repository to ensure effective file management.
• Develop copy that adheres to best practice regarding document structure and logic flow. Excellent written and oral communications skills; must be able to interface effectively with SMEs and managers of all levels.
• Provide regular input to ongoing team workload estimation efforts
• Ensure completion of all committed documentation tasks in parallel with software code development with frequent refactoring and tuning of artifacts.
• Develop new and refine existing technical writing processes to enhance quality and productivity.

Qualifications:

Required: 

• Must be a U.S. Citizen, with or eligible for a government security clearance
• Excellent communication skills in English in written and spoken form
• 8+ years of demonstrated technical writing experience
• Strong written and oral communications skills
• Experience with desktop publishing, automated work processing and other digital information technology applications; particularly World Wide Web publishing online user guides
• Experience developing technical documentation in short iterations
• Expert in Microsoft Word, including template design and macro functionality
• Knowledge of document and repository management practices
• Ability to apply advanced principles, theories, and concepts, and contribute to the development of innovative principles and ideas.
• Experience working on unusually complicated problems and providing solutions that are highly creative and ingenious, exhibiting ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness.
• Periodically develops data which goes beyond existing boundaries of information in field.
• Acts independently to expose and resolve problems.
• Strong attention to detail and collaboration skills.
• Ability to interface with various groups as well as work independently
• Strong contextual understanding of technical terminology and extensive technical vocabulary
• Strong software development background, with a minimum of five (5) solid year experience in incremental software development projects using an Agile Scrum approach
• Understanding of all elements of the software development life cycle, including planning, development, requirements management, CM, quality assurance, and release management
• Highly responsible, team-oriented individual with very strong communication skills and work ethic; self-starter

Desired:

• Understanding of cybersecurity documentations, RMF, ATO packages requirements, etc.
• Direct Current and Relevant experience with supporting the Department of Defense and US Army is highly desirable.

Pay Range

:

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$84,900 - $178,400
