Consulting Systems Engineer

Fortinet is seeking a Consulting Systems Engineer (CSE) with a strong Security Operations (SecOps) background to support strategic customers and opportunities across Latin America.

The CSE is a senior technical advisor who works closely with Sales, Field Systems Engineers, customers, partners, and Fortinet product teams. This role focuses on designing and positioning cybersecurity solutions, with particular emphasis on Security Operations, including SIEM, SOAR, SOC processes, detection and response, and security analytics.

The ideal candidate combines strong cybersecurity knowledge with hands-on experience in SOC environments and the ability to translate customer security requirements into effective technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• - Act as a senior technical resource for strategic SecOps opportunities across Latin America.

• - Work with customers and account teams to understand security operations, monitoring, detection, investigation, and incident response requirements.

• - Design and recommend cybersecurity architectures based on customer environments, security processes, and business requirements.

• - Lead technical discussions, presentations, demonstrations, workshops, and Proof of Concept (PoC) activities.

• - Working with AI and understanding MCP and E2E protocols, including how they can be leveraged to enhance cybersecurity.

• - Provide technical guidance to Field Systems Engineers and partners on SecOps solutions and use cases.

• - Develop and demonstrate SIEM and SOAR use cases, including security monitoring, correlation, alerting, investigation, automation, and response workflows.

• - Understand SOC operating models, processes, and workflows, including alert triage, incident investigation, escalation, threat detection, and response.

• - Work with customers to map existing SOC processes and identify opportunities for automation, orchestration, and operational improvement.

• - Support competitive evaluations and technical design reviews involving SIEM, SOAR, and related cybersecurity technologies.

• - Participate in strategic customer engagements and provide technical leadership throughout the sales cycle.

• - Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering to provide customer feedback, identify product gaps, and influence future capabilities.

• - Develop technical content, demonstrations, and enablement materials to support customers, partners, and internal teams.

• - Mentor Field Systems Engineers and contribute to regional technical communities.

• - Maintain strong knowledge of Fortinet products, cybersecurity technologies, and industry trends.

• - Travel within Latin America and internationally as required.

Qualifications

• - 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity, security engineering, SOC, or related technical roles.

• - Strong hands-on experience with SIEM technologies and security monitoring.

• - Solid understanding of SOC operations, including detection, alert triage, investigation, incident response, and use case development.

• - Practical experience with SOAR technologies and security automation is highly desirable.

• - Hands-on experience with incident response processes, playbooks, and procedures.

• - Strong understanding of security operations and modern cybersecurity architectures.

• - Experience with log collection, analysis, correlation, and security data management.

• - Knowledge of security frameworks and methodologies such as MITRE ATT&CK, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and ISO 27001.

• - Experience with one or more of the following technologies is highly desirable: SIEM, SOAR, and Incident Response.

• - Experience working in a SOC, MSSP, or managed security services environment is a strong advantage.

• - Ability to understand complex customer environments and translate security requirements into practical technical solutions.

• - Strong analytical, troubleshooting, presentation, and communication skills.

• - Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business audiences.

• - Ability to work collaboratively with Sales, Engineering, Product Management, Customer Support, and other cross-functional teams.

• - Relevant cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, GCIA, or GCIH are highly desirable.

• - Experience with cloud platforms, virtualization, AI, or machine learning applied to cybersecurity is a plus.

• - Bilingual in Portuguese and English, Spanish a plus

• - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• - Regional and international travel required.
