Global Category Manager, Global Procurement Organization (GPO), GPO Tech Category Team

Amazon's Global Procurement Organization (GPO) is seeking an experienced Category Manager to lead global sourcing and category strategies for IT/Tech Hardware and associated services. This role is responsible for managing a broad portfolio that includes mainly end-user computing devices, peripherals, IT accessories, and associated managed services and support contracts. The Category Manager will drive cost savings, supplier performance, and supply chain resilience across Amazon's global operations.

This is a high-impact, cross-functional role that requires strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Key job responsibilities
• Category Strategy: Develop and execute multi-year global category strategies for IT hardware and associated services, including market analysis, spend segmentation, sourcing roadmaps, and supplier portfolio optimization.

• Sourcing & Contracting: Lead competitive sourcing events (RFPs, RFQs, auctions), negotiate commercial terms, and execute contracts that deliver best-in-class pricing, quality, and service levels.

• Supplier Management: Build and manage strategic supplier relationships; conduct regular business reviews, track KPIs, and drive continuous improvement in cost, quality, delivery, and sustainability.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with IT, Finance, Legal, Operations, and business unit leaders globally to align procurement strategies with business needs and priorities.

• Spend Analytics: Analyze global spend data to identify savings opportunities, consolidation potential, and demand management levers; develop and track savings pipelines.

* Market Intelligence: Monitor industry trends, technology shifts, and supply market dynamics to proactively inform category strategy and risk mitigation plans.

• Contract Compliance: Ensure supplier compliance with contractual obligations, Amazon's Supplier Code of Conduct, and applicable regulatory requirements.

• Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements across the procure-to-pay cycle; support catalog adoption and purchasing compliance initiatives.

• Cross-Regional Coordination: Collaborate with regional procurement teams across North America, EMEA, APAC, and LATAM to ensure globally consistent strategies while accommodating regional requirements.

About the team
The GPO Tech Category Team is Amazon's strategic technology procurement organization within the Global Procurement Organization, responsible for sourcing the technology goods and services that power Worldwide Operations. Applying rigorous category management, the team takes end-to-end ownership of its spend domains, from demand planning and sourcing strategy through negotiation, award, contract management, and supplier relationship management. Its work is anchored in creating value across the supply chain, delivering commercial excellence and compliance, and driving optimization and standardization at scale, while partnering closely with senior stakeholders across the business to align sourcing decisions with organizational priorities and the full set of GPO strategic imperatives.

Basic qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
• 3+ years of relevant strategic sourcing and category management in indirect categories such as professional services, support or maintenance spend, supply chain, forecasting, manufacturing, sourcing/procurement, or vendor management experience
• 3+ years of defining and executing against program timeline & requirements experience
• 3+ years of developing diverse supplier strategies and executing on sourcing activities experience
• Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
• Experience managing spend amount of at least $75 million

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
• Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
• Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
• Experience being responsible/leading large and complex negotiations
• Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
