The Lockheed Martin (LM) Missiles and Fire Control Facility (MFC) in Archbald, PA is seeking a high-performing and engaging Production Operations leader to join the team as Production Operations Senior Manager. This role serves as a key member of the site leadership team and partners closely with functional leaders, employees, internal/external customers, and the broader enterprise to drive operational excellence.

The Production Operations Senior Manager is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership for the manufacturing team, ensuring the organization safely delivers high-quality products while achieving business, financial, and operational objectives. This position covers all production areas in Archbald including Metal Fabrication, Circuit Card Assembly, Cable Wire Harness, and Electro-Mechanical / Electrical Systems Integration.

This leader will establish the vision and operating strategy for the manufacturing team and create an environment where people are empowered to perform at their best, continuously improve processes, and deliver exceptional results.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Establish and execute the manufacturing operations strategy in alignment with overall business objectives
  • Translate business goals into clear operational priorities, measurable objectives, and accountability
  • Develop long-term capacity, capability, and resource plans to support current and future needs
  • Provide leadership across manufacturing operations, partnering closely with production planning & control, manufacturing engineering, quality, ESH, program management, and related functions to ensure production commitments are met
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement through Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, standard work, and disciplined problem solving
  • Establish safety as a fundamental operating value and ensure all employees understand their responsibility for maintaining a safe workplace
  • Partner with Quality and Engineering organizations to address root causes and prevent recurrence of quality defects
  • Build and maintain a high-performing manufacturing and front-line leadership team
  • Develop future leaders through coaching, mentoring, succession planning, and meaningful development opportunities
  • Create an environment of accountability, trust, collaboration, and respect
  • Build positive employee relations through consistency, transparency, listening, and responsiveness
  • Engage employees by communicating the organization’s vision, priorities, and performance
  • Drive productivity, cost reduction, labor efficiency, and effective utilization of resources
  • Develop and manage operating budgets and capital investment plans
  • Establish strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Represent the team/site with customers, senior leadership, and other key stakeholders as required
  • Identify opportunities to improve the site’s long-term competitiveness
  • Build an organization capable of sustaining growth while maintaining safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
  • Strong and positive communication skills with an ability to influence others, inclusive of programs, vendors, customer, and community partners
  • Proven success building a high-functioning organization and developing talent
  • Demonstrated commitment to ensuring a safe operating environment and a culture that prioritizes safety
  • Demonstrated capability to drive production execution and test operations, utilizing Lean Six Sigma manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to meet quality, cost and schedule
  • Significant project management and production experience operating in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong track record developing and maintaining internal and external relationships with sites, programs, customer program offices, DCMA, and community leadership
  • Experience creating and delivering executive level presentations
  • Success leading production transformation and successful 6S and constraint management
  • Demonstrated ability to make critical decisions, set priorities, and provide succinct direction in a dynamic environment

Desired Skills

  • Prior experience leading leaders of large teams
  • Prior experience leading manufacturing teams responsible for one or more of the following areas: metal fabrication, circuit card assembly, cable wire warness, Electro-Mechanical / Electrical Systems Integration
  • Knowledge of SAP and Apriso tools
  • Transition experience from development to production and production rate increases
  • Experience leading an organization during a period of significant growth
  • Green or Black Belt Certification

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $142800.00 - $265200.00

  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
