General Summary:

We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to support, maintain, and enhance enterprise infrastructure services supporting government mission requirements. This role is responsible for the administration, troubleshooting, optimization, and lifecycle management of Microsoft technologies, virtual desktop infrastructure, networking, vulnerability remediation, and enterprise backup solutions.The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills across multiple infrastructure domains and be comfortable supporting production environments, resolving complex technical issues, and participating in infrastructure projects while maintaining compliance with security and operational standards.This position requires an Active U.S. Top Secret (TS) security clearance and the ability to maintain that clearance throughout employment. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and capable of working with sensitive and classified information in accordance with government and customer security requirements. Experience supporting classified networks, secure facilities, and environments governed by NIST, RMF, CMMC, or other federal cybersecurity frameworks.Key ResponsibilitiesMicrosoft Infrastructure

• Administer and support Microsoft Windows Server environments.
• Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services, and print services.
• Perform server provisioning, patching, upgrades, maintenance, and lifecycle management.
• Support Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM), software deployment, and endpoint compliance.
• Develop and maintain PowerShell automation and operational documentation.

Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)

• Support and maintain enterprise virtual desktop platforms such as Omnissa Horizon, Azure Virtual Desktop, or similar technologies.
• Manage desktop images, application delivery, user profiles, and platform performance.
• Troubleshoot user connectivity, authentication, and virtual desktop issues.
• Assist with platform upgrades, lifecycle management, and capacity planning.

Networking

• Support enterprise networking services including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, VLANs, VPNs, and firewalls.
• Troubleshoot server, endpoint, and application connectivity issues.
• Work with network engineering teams to implement approved changes and resolve service disruptions.

Vulnerability Management

• Support vulnerability remediation efforts across servers, endpoints, and infrastructure platforms.
• Apply security patches, configuration updates, and hardening standards.
• Validate remediation activities and maintain compliance with established security requirements.
• Partner with cybersecurity teams to address findings and reduce operational risk.

Data Backup & Recovery

• Administer and monitor enterprise backup and recovery solutions.
• Investigate backup failures and perform restoration activities.
• Support disaster recovery testing and recovery validation exercises.
• Maintain backup documentation, schedules, retention policies, and recovery procedures.

Operations & Support

• Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 infrastructure support.
• Troubleshoot complex system, virtualization, networking, and endpoint issues.
• Monitor infrastructure health, performance, and capacity.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and diagrams.
• Participate in after-hours maintenance and on-call support as required.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience

• 3+ years of experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure.
• Experience administering Microsoft Windows Server environments.
• Experience troubleshooting infrastructure issues in production environments.
• Experience working within regulated or security-focused environments.

Technical Skills

• Microsoft Windows Server Administration
• Active Directory & Group Policy
• SCCM/MECM or equivalent endpoint management platforms
• PowerShell scripting and automation
• Virtualization technologies such as Nutanix, VMware, or Hyper-V
• Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (Horizon, Azure Virtual Desktop, Citrix, or similar)
• Networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, VLANs, and firewalls
• Vulnerability remediation and security hardening
• Enterprise backup and recovery solutions

Minimum Qualifications:

• 4+ years of IT-related work experience with a Bachelor's degree.
OR
7+ years of IT-related work experience without a Bachelor’s degree.

Pay range

and Other Compensation & Benefits:

$119,600.00 - $179,400.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted.
