NIKE, Inc. Air MI Engineering Undergraduate Internship

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

As our Air MI Engineering Intern, you will join the Air MI team to assist in the manufacturing of products related to Nike Air Footwear.

The available position may focus on process development, machine optimization, or other related projects. You will be mentored by your area-specific and cross- functional teammates and use your engineering skills to implement product development or continuous improvement solutions as determined by the project(s) to which you are assigned. Alongside your engineering teammates, you may work with other specialists including but not limited to areas such as development, production, costing, maintenance and facilities.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE:

In the NIKE, Inc. Summer Internship Program, you’ll contribute to high-priority, real business initiatives that align with the NIKE, Inc. strategic roadmap.

With the guidance of senior leaders and experienced managers, you’ll take ownership of a project that’s been scoped to drive impact.  These projects are designed to challenge your critical thinking, further develop your skills and foster effective collaboration while contributing directly to your team’s goals.

WHAT YOU BRING:

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an undergraduate program with an expected graduation date of December 2027 or Spring 2028
• Preferred degrees: Mechanical, Chemical, Plastics, Electrical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or similar field
• Strong desire to work in a manufacturing environment required
• Resume submission (PDF) required

Skills

• Experience in a high-volume and/or high mix manufacturing environment is preferred
• Ability to analyze problems, assess data, use basic math and statistics, and deal with ambiguity and frequent changes in priorities
• Ability to balance multiple challenging projects simultaneously
• Must be comfortable working hands-on
• Exposure to Six Sigma/Lean manufacturing principles and concepts

This internship – as well as full-time positions – are located within Nike’s Air Manufacturing Innovation (Air MI) facility in Beaverton, OR. Interns should have a strong interest in manufacturing environments and be comfortable spending the majority of their time working on-site within a fast-paced production setting rather than a traditional corporate office environment.
