WHAT IS THE ROLE OF A BUSINESS MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATE, FOODSERVICE SALES AT GENERAL MILLS? 

North America Foodservice (NAF)

business segment competes in the growing away-from-home food market in the US and Canada.  Our mission is to create growth away from home together for operators in diverse channels – including K-12 schools, colleges & universities, restaurants, bakeries, pizzerias, hospitals, hotels and senior living facilities.

WHAT WILL I DO? 

NAF’s early career sales program is designed to help you launch your career at General Mills through structured development, meaningful coaching, and hands-on selling experience. The ability to experience different roles and assignments builds the depth and breadth needed to transform into future Sales leadership roles at General Mills.

• NAF’s rotational program provides early career experiences as you jumpstart your career at General Mills, along with the ability to experience two distinct sales paths. One rotation at World Headquarters (WHQ) and another in a field-based selling role as a Customer Account Specialist (CAS) in a location outside of WHQ. Depending on business need, you may begin either at World Headquarters (WHQ) or directly in a field-based selling role as a Customer Account Specialist (CAS). 

• Selling and Influencing: Build core selling skills and product knowledge through a structured curriculum and hands-on customer and field experiences 

• Business Analytics and problem Solving: learn to use business dynamics and analytical tools to uncover opportunities, develop solution-based insights and influence decision-makers 

• Sales Support and Strategy: Apply your understanding of customer needs, sales trends and business analytics to support strategy development and help drive and execute upon business priorities 

• Relationship Building: Build strong internal and external relationships through cross-functional projects, trade shows, mentorship and the option for involvement in diversity organizations. 

WHERE WILL I WORK? 

WHQ, Minneapolis, MN, or a designated NAF field location anywhere in the continental United States, dependent on business need.

Relocation for subsequent roles is critical for progression within our Sales Division.

IS THIS YOU? 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required, open to all majors 

• December 2026 or May 2027 

Preferred Qualifications

• Majors in Business, Communications and Liberal Arts 

• Strong academic record 

• Strong interpersonal skills, high learning agility, analytical and decision-making skills 

• Exemplary people, technical, and process leadership ready to take initiative and add value to their team

The base salary for this position is $73,000. At General Mills we strive for each employee’s pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their role. The salary for this role represents the factors considered in the hiring decision including education and degree obtained. Beyond base salary, General Mills offers a competitive Total Rewards package focusing on your overall physical wellbeing & mental health. In this role you will be able to participate in our annual incentive program. An incentive award, if any, depends on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.
