Manager, Commodity Planning: Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) - Supply Chain Management (SCM)
Job description
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking a Manager within our Supply Chain Management org to lead and manage the Commodity Planning team responsible for developing and executing supply plans for assigned electronic commodities. This leader will ensure supply plans support OCI capacity and customer commitments, proactively identify shortages and excess, and drive practical mitigation strategies across a complex, fast-moving supply chain.
This is a highly visible people-leadership role for a strong supply chain professional who combines analytical rigor, operational judgment, and executive presence. The successful candidate will partner closely with Sourcing, Demand Management, Product Management, Finance, contract manufacturers, and suppliers to translate demand signals into executable supply plans, manage risk, and communicate clear recommendations to senior leadership.
Based in Nashville, this manager will also serve as the in-person dotted-line manager for New College Graduate employees working from the Nashville office three days per week, providing day-to-day coaching, support, and local leadership.
Responsibilities
What You’ll Do
Lead and develop the Commodity Planning team responsible for assigned commodity and top-level supply plans, ensuring plans are accurate, timely, and aligned to business commitments.
Own the operating rhythm for supply planning, including plan reviews, supply-risk assessments, shortage and excess reporting, and escalation management.
Identify supply-demand imbalances early and lead cross-functional mitigation plans that protect customer delivery, revenue, margin, and working capital.
Develop inventory strategies, including targets, buffers, allocation approaches, and risk-mitigation plans that balance service levels, cost, and inventory health.
Partner with Sourcing Management, Demand Management, Product Management, Finance, contract manufacturers, and suppliers to ensure suppliers receive the right demand signal at the right time.
Align across product managers, supply types, and planning horizons to maintain a cohesive, executable commodity supply plan.
Assess forward-looking supply capability, constraints, and revenue risk; present clear scenarios, decisions, and recommendations to senior management and executive audiences.
Communicate business performance through concise reporting on supply status, shortages, excess, inventory, and mitigation progress.
Lead supply allocation decisions when required, ensuring transparent, data-driven execution in partnership with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
Mentor, coach, and develop planners; establish clear priorities, build technical and business capability, and foster ownership and accountability.
Provide in-person dotted-line leadership and mentorship for Nashville-based New College Graduates, supporting their integration, development, and onsite work experience.
Drive continuous improvement in planning processes, systems, metrics, and operating mechanisms; simplify workflows and strengthen planning discipline.
Build strong relationships across OCI and with external manufacturing and supplier partners, influencing decisions and driving alignment across competing priorities.
What We’re Looking For
Deep supply chain planning expertise, with a strong understanding of supply planning principles, inventory management, material constraints, lead times, capacity, allocation, and supply-demand balancing.
Demonstrated commodity-planning experience; electronic commodity planning experience is strongly preferred.
Proven ability to lead teams and cross-functional initiatives in a complex, ambiguous, and fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including scenario modeling, root-cause analysis, and translating complex data into actionable business decisions.
Advanced Excel skills, including complex modeling, pivots, forecasting, and scenario analysis; experience with planning systems and data tools is a plus.
Ability to communicate clearly and credibly with stakeholders at all levels, from working teams to senior executives.
Comfortable presenting supply risks, business tradeoffs, and recommended actions to senior leadership.
Experience working with contract manufacturers and suppliers to manage demand signals, supply commitments, and execution issues.
A continuous-improvement mindset, with the ability to establish standard processes, meaningful metrics, and effective operating rhythms.
Strong people-leadership skills, including coaching, feedback, talent development, and creating an inclusive, high-accountability team environment.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Operations, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
8+ years of experience in supply/demand planning, sourcing, operations, or broader supply chain roles.
2+ years of people-management, team-leadership, or demonstrated leadership experience managing complex cross-functional work.
Experience communicating supply plans, risks, and recommendations to cross-functional and senior leadership audiences.
Advanced Excel skills.
Preferred Qualifications
10+ years of experience in commodity planning, supply chain planning, product operations, sourcing, or related roles.
Experience in electronics, semiconductor, server, networking, storage, or other high-tech hardware supply chains.
Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure, datacenter, or cloud-capacity environments.
Familiarity with cloud and platform environments such as OCI, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, especially where supply planning is connected to capacity delivery.
Experience leading teams located across multiple sites or supporting early-career talent development.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $114,600 to $234,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
