Responsibilities

What you'll be able to do:

Body Exteriors and Closures CAE Engineer - positions offered by Ford Motor Company (Allen Park, Michigan). Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned worksite. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance from the worksite.  Lead the CAE analysis of next generation Model e products, in one or more of the following areas: Closures and Body Exteriors. Work with D&R engineers to drive design resolutions using both linear and non-linear CAE analysis. Develop component, system and vehicle level CAE models and complete analysis following Ford CAE modeling/analysis guidelines. Direct other analysts to create CAE models and run analysis. Conduct DOE studies utilizing optimization tools to meet performance requirements within the constraints of conflicting attributes such as cost and mass. Develop CAE based countermeasures to meet requirements and work with program members to develop design proposals that meet cost and weight targets.

Qualifications

You'll have…

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related field and 4 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.   4 years of experience with each of the following skills is required: 1. Utilizing pre-processing tools to create CAE models and post-processing tools to visualize results using Altair Hypermesh or ANSA. 2. Conducting CAE analysis using Abaqus including debugging and generating results to drive robust designs. 3. Conducting CAE analysis using Ls-Dyna including debugging and generating results to drive robust designs.  3 years of experience with each of the following skills is required:  1. Optimizing designs for mass and performance using optimization tools such as Tosca or Optistruct.  2 years of experience with each of the following skills is required:  1. Conducting CAE analysis of metallic and non-metallic structures using linear and non-linear material models based on test data. 2. Using CAE tools conduct correlation studies between tests and analysis to verify vehicle and system level performance.  1 year of experience with the following skill is required:  1. Develop or utilize Python/TCL scripts for automation of pre-processing of models and for material verification within CAE models.

We are offering a salary of $116,459.00 - $188,186.16/yr.
