Role Overview

We are looking for bright, energetic, motivated students to join Qualcomm’s Canada 2027 intern class!

CPU Power and Limits Management Project:

Are you excited about latest SoC with Top-Tier Technologies and segment leading Performance? Be a part of the group that are innovating co-development of Hardware/Software and driving advanced compute products inside Qualcomm.

You will be working with team of industry experts passionate about what they do and ready to impart their knowledge onto you. We have opportunities engineering various aspects of CPU Power, Performance, and Limits management Firmware Development, Verification and Debug.

You may also serve as a DevOps resource learning DevOps principles, best practices, and tool usage. You may also serve as LabOps resource bringing  up new hardware platforms, help debug the platform, board and software issues.

This intern will be supporting performance management profiling and debug tool development activities for the next generation SoCs.

Programming Languages:  

• C/embedded C
• Python, shell scripting
• Ansible and Chef

Minimum Qualifications:

• Excellent programming skills in C, Python
• Sound knowledge of embedded development; RTOS concepts
• Ability to debug, root cause, and resolve FW issues spanning multiple subsystems in an SoC.  Proven ability to own problems and drive them to a resolution
• Solid understanding in Computer Architecture/microarchitecture concepts
• Basic understanding of Microcontroller/Microprocessor programming
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Effective interpersonal communications skill (written and verbal)
• Analytical, thorough, resourceful and detail-oriented
• Self-motivated, hardworking, and flexible

Preferred Qualifications:

• Academic experience with industry standard Architecture / system specification, SoC design, Microcontroller firmware development
• Experience in JTAG, Debug, Gitlab, and Jira all a plus

Education Requirements:

• In study towards a bachelor’s degree in one of the following: Engineering Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Computer Science, or related field
• For 16-month internships: must be available May/June 2027 - August/September 2028
• Expected graduation date of November 2028 or later.

Our interns join world-class teams to help define and build what is next for mobility and the world. You’ll be paired with a mentor with visibility to your project and team, receive support from your manager, and have access to the entire Qualcomm employee community to ensure your success. To round out your internship, we host professional development workshops, social events, cross-functional speaker sessions, and an executive speaker series. In addition to competitive hourly pay and accrued vacation time, you will receive housing stipend to accommodate for the duration of your internship.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:

$54,600.00 - $103,350.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm.  We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).  In addition, our highly competitive benefits package is designed to support your success at work, at home, and at play.
