What we're looking for:
We are looking for a highly talented Software Development Manager to help build fast, scalable, robust systems to crystalize and execute this vision. The successful candidate is expected to be a hands-on technical manager who understands and sets a high bar for all phases of the software development life-cycle, while hiring, coaching, developing and growing a team of engineers. We seek someone with an insatiable curiosity and appetite for learning, who can build and nurture an AI-native engineering team capable of leveraging emerging AI technologies in our solutions. Your ability to foster a culture of innovation and adaptability will be key as we integrate AI throughout our engineering practices.

Key job responsibilities

• Manage a team of software engineers, including their projects, performance, and career growth
• Communicate project roadmaps with your team, management, and principal stakeholders
• Work with peer managers to scope and estimate development effort
• Facilitate systems design, architecture, and scaling discussions
• Advocate for the right outcomes with data, conviction, and diplomacy
• Deliver innovative customer experience for world-wide customers
• Hire and mentor highly talented engineers

A day in the life

• Interact with leaders from product and/or other partner tech teams for conceptualizing, scoping and/or planning delivery.
• Manage project planning, task break-down, delivery and track status with your team
• Communicate delivery status to stakeholders
• Contribute to the vision, goals, and technical strategy in alignment with customer needs and market opportunities.
• Mentor engineers, provide leadership on complex technical issues, design trade-offs, and feature and schedule prioritization.
• Innovate on behalf of customer

Basic qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience
• 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
• 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
• Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
