We're seeking a Senior Art Director, Social & Content to join Heart Haus, the internal creative agency for CVS Health. This role is ideal for a creative who combines strategic thinking, strong conceptual skills, and exceptional hands-on design expertise. The successful candidate will develop breakthrough ideas, create engaging content experiences, and help evolve the brand across social, digital, and emerging platforms.

Description:

The Senior Art Director develops innovative, audience-centric creative across social media, digital marketing, content ecosystems, video, and integrated campaigns. Working closely with Creative Directors, Writers, Marketing Strategy, Social Marketing, Production, and Brand teams, this role transforms business objectives and audience insights into compelling creative solutions that drive awareness, engagement, consideration, and growth.

This individual serves as a bridge between concept and execution, bringing ideas to life through thoughtful design, visual storytelling, and a deep understanding of social-first content. They are equally comfortable presenting creative concepts to stakeholders, building scalable content systems and design frameworks, and creating polished assets within Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.

The ideal candidate combines exceptional visual design skills with strategic thinking and creative problem-solving. They understand how to develop ideas that resonate with audiences while ensuring every execution aligns with brand standards, accessibility requirements, platform best practices, and business objectives.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop strategic, insight-driven creative concepts for social, digital, content, and integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Design and execute high-quality creative assets across social media, video, presentations, and other digital channels.
  • Create scalable content systems, templates, and design frameworks that enable efficient content production across teams.
  • Translate marketing objectives, audience insights, and brand strategies into compelling visual storytelling.
  • Serve as both a conceptual creative lead and hands-on designer throughout the creative development process.
  • Partner closely with writers and art directors to develop integrated ideas and cohesive campaign experiences.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Strategy, Brand, Social Media, Digital Experience, Clinical, Legal, and Accessibility teams to ensure creative meets business and stakeholder requirements.
  • Present creative concepts, rationale, and recommendations confidently to stakeholders at multiple levels of the organization.
  • Stay current on platform trends, emerging social behaviors, creator content, and best practices across major social and digital channels.
  • Leverage AI-powered design and creative tools to enhance ideation, content creation, production efficiency, and workflow optimization.
  • Ensure all work aligns with CVS Health brand standards, accessibility requirements, and design best practices.
  • Support innovation initiatives, testing opportunities, and new content formats to advance CVS Health's digital and social presence.

Required qualifications:

  • Strong portfolio showcasing conceptual campaign thinking and high-quality execution across digital and social channels. Portfolio link required for consideration.
  • Minimum of 5-7+ years of experience in art direction, visual design, social creative, or integrated marketing.
  • 2+ years’ operating in a senior-level creative role with responsibility for leading projects independently.
  • Proven ability to develop breakthrough creative ideas and translate them into effective, polished executions.
  • Exceptional understanding of social media platforms, content behaviors, and audience engagement strategies.
  • Strong visual storytelling, typography, layout, composition, and design system expertise.
  • Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects), and presentation design.
  • Familiarity with creator content, influencer marketing, and social content ecosystems.
  • Experience building social design systems, content playbooks, or scalable content frameworks.
  • Strong strategic thinking and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to balance concept development with hands-on execution.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
  • Experience working within fast-paced environments and managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Willingness to embrace and incorporate AI-enabled creative tools into daily workflows.
  • Experience working within enterprise workflows and governance models including Figma, Workfront, and Microsoft 365.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience working within large, complex enterprise organizations.
  • Background in healthcare, retail, or e-commerce communications
  • Experience with motion design, short-form video, and content creation for social platforms.
  • Familiarity with marketing resource management platforms such as Workfront.

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Advertising, Interactive Design, Fine Arts, or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$66,330.00 - $145,860.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
