Sr. Technical Product Manager

Global Platform builds the shared services, tools, and engineering foundations that help eBay teams deliver products faster, improve reliability, and reduce operational risk.

As a Technical Product Manager, you’ll set platform direction for one of eBay’s company priorities with broad technical and organizational scope. You’ll partner with product, engineering, architecture, and VP-level leaders to connect company goals with the capabilities and investments needed to achieve them.

Your work will extend beyond a single initiative. You’ll identify recurring needs across organizations, determine where reusable solutions can create broader value, and help shape Global Platform’s multi-year strategy and investment priorities.

You’ll lead through influence, turn complex technical questions into clear decisions, and guide work across organizations from early framing through measurable results. Success will be reflected in stronger adoption, smoother migrations, improved service health, greater engineering efficiency, and better customer and business outcomes.

What you will accomplish

• Set and maintain a multi-year strategy and integrated roadmap connecting company goals with platform adoption, modernization, migrations, and new capabilities.
• Identify recurring needs across organizations and determine where existing capabilities, improvements, or new investments can create reusable value.
• Advise senior leaders on options, sequencing, investment, and risk. Clarify decision rights and secure the commitments needed to move forward.
• Lead complex initiatives across organizations, aligning teams on outcomes, ownership, resources, milestones, and measures of success.
• Partner with senior engineers and architects to evaluate scalability, reliability, security, operational impact, and long-term maintainability.
• Define adoption, migration, and lifecycle plans for major capabilities. Track progress through usage, migration, service health, engineering efficiency, and business results.
• Communicate clear recommendations to technical and executive audiences and mentor other product managers.
• Identify, evaluate, and scale responsible AI-enabled capabilities that accelerate product delivery, improve customer engagement, and deliver measurable business outcomes.
  

What you will bring

• 8 or more years of Product management experience setting strategy and delivering complex technical products across multiple engineering organizations.
• Experience working not just with teams but enterprise level organizations and C level executives 
• Technical fluency that supports productive discussions with senior engineers and architects about system design, interfaces, dependencies, scalability, reliability, security, and operations.
• Product judgment that uses customer evidence, technical data, and business results to balance immediate needs with long-term reuse and sustainability.
• Experience turning ambiguous or contested problems into clear choices, roadmaps, and executable plans.
• Experience advising senior leaders, navigating competing priorities, and securing commitments without direct authority.
• Experience using customer evidence, technical data, adoption measures, and business results to guide product and investment decisions.
• Experience supporting other product managers through mentoring, shared practices, or product leadership.
  

Additional Details

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:

$127,600 - $214,700

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
