Job Description
We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer with around 8 years of experience to design, develop, and maintain automated test solutions for web and/or API-based applications. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in testing concepts, hands-on automation experience, and the ability to work closely with development and product teams in an agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for web and API applications
- Execute automated and manual test cases and analyze test results
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, and business analysts to understand requirements and define test scenarios
- Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and test data
- Identify, log, and track defects using defect management tools (JIRA or similar)
- Perform regression, smoke, and sanity testing as part of release cycles
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
- Ensure test coverage and quality metrics are met before releases
- Continuously improve automation frameworks, test coverage, and testing processes
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in QA with strong focus on test automation
- Strong understanding of software testing fundamentals (STLC, SDLC, test design techniques)
- Experience working with test frameworks like TestNG, Cucumber and Gauge etc.
- Hands-on experience with automation tools/frameworks such as:
- Selenium / Playwright / Cypress
- Proficiency in at least one programming language:
- Java / Python / JavaScript
- Experience in API testing (Postman, Rest Assured, or similar tools)
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, etc.)
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
