Psychology Assistant I - Bilingual

About Us

The Psychology Assistant will serve as the primary research coordinator for a newly funded NIH study entitled "Passive smartphone phenotypes of everyday behavior for assessment in Alzheimer's disease" (NIA K23), led by Dr. Katherine Hackett, a clinical neuropsychologist in the inaugural Division of Brain and Cognitive Health Technology. This project evaluates an innovative approach to characterizing everyday behavior and Alzheimer's disease risk in older adults using passive monitoring technologies, including smartphone sensing (digital phenotyping).

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Conducts and scores neuropsychological assessments in compliance with study protocols;
2. Conducts participant interviews using standardized techniques to ensure accurate data collection;
3. Review, and audit data for accuracy; follow up with participants as needed to resolve discrepancies;
4. Works with statistical team to perform analyses;
5. Conducts literature reviews to support research activities and manuscript development;
6. Manages research databases using Excel, and other statistical or data management programs;
7. Organizes and prepares grant-related documentation for Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions. May write  reports to present at meeting;
8. Perform other related duties as assigned; and,
9. May require off-campus site visits.
10. Proficiently perform job functions in both English and Spanish on based on department need;

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree is required
• Major in Neuroscience and/or Psychology is preferred
• Experience of working in a Neuroscience and/or Psychology Laboratory preferred
• Experience with software programs such as excel, SPSS, and R preferred
• Experience working with adults and/or older adults preferred

Skills and Competencies

• Proficient ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish both verbally and in writing with study participants is required
• Excellent organizational, oral, written and analytical communications skills; strong database management and clear understanding of clinical and research databases
• Strong project management skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Windows and Mac operating systems

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rates for this are listed below. This rate is based on the 1199 bargaining unit contract.
