The Tumor Immunobiology Laboratory is seeking a motivated Research Technician II to join our multidisciplinary research team focused on cancer biology, tumor immunology, translational science, and clinical research. In this role, you will contribute to a diverse portfolio of laboratory, computational, and data-driven research projects while working alongside faculty investigators, research staff, trainees, and collaborators.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys scientific discovery, problem-solving, and working across disciplines. Depending on your background and interests, you may support laboratory experiments, clinical and research data management, computational analyses, scientific reporting, and project coordination.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific, quantitative, computational, engineering, or related field.
• Ability to organize and manage research data, records, and project documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality, reproducible research.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in laboratory, computational, clinical, quantitative, or interdisciplinary research.
• Experience with laboratory techniques, molecular biology, cell-based assays, or sample processing.
• Experience with data analysis, statistics, databases, programming, bioinformatics, or scientific visualization.
• Interest in cancer biology, immunology, translational research, or biomedical data science.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

Other Requirements

• Ability to learn new research methods and technologies.
• Comfortable working across multiple projects and interacting with individuals from diverse scientific backgrounds.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and research data management tools is beneficial.

This position is onsite. The work is performed on-site at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina.

• Support multiple laboratory, translational, and clinical research projects under the supervision of faculty and senior research personnel.
• Collect, organize, manage, and perform quality control of research datasets, sample inventories, and project documentation.
• Assist with data analysis, visualization, and preparation of results for presentations, manuscripts, and scientific reports.
• Coordinate research activities with laboratory members, clinical teams, core facilities, and external collaborators.
• Contribute to laboratory experiments, sample processing, molecular assays, computational analyses, or bioinformatics workflows based on experience and project needs.

Anticipated Pay Range: Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $20.65 to USD $29.43.
