Job description

SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.

SPACEPORT OPERATIONS TECHNICIAN (EXPERIENCES)

The Spaceport Operations Technician will take ownership of Starbase social-facing spaces, ensuring they are clean, organized, and optimized for the best guest experience. This role provides boots-on-the-ground oversight, inventory management, and support for event execution. The ideal candidate will bring high attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and a passion for continuous improvement in all areas of spaceport hospitality and site operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive continuous improvement across assigned areas by implementing at least one major enhancement per quarter—whether aesthetic, functional, or operational
  • Support events by coordinating social space readiness, setting up and breaking down equipment, and maintaining cleanliness throughout
  • Maintain organized and well-stocked storage and supply areas; coordinate inventory management and ordering with the Experience team
  • Communicate daily through reporting tools and shift pass-downs, documenting task completion, inventory usage, and status updates
  • Collaborate with Facilities and Housekeeping teams to escalate and track maintenance or service needs
  • Lead by example through work ethic, attention to detail, time management, and pride in upholding presentation standards
  • Assist in training and mentoring team members, contributing to a culture of accountability and operational excellence

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 1+ years of custodial, facilities maintenance, or operations experience

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Experience maintaining or managing shared or social-use spaces
  • Demonstrated ability to uphold high standards of cleanliness, functionality, and guest satisfaction
  • Effective communicator across departments and with guests
  • Experience supporting events or large gatherings with setup and breakdown responsibilities
  • Comfortable identifying issues, submitting tickets, and proactively driving solutions
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be available for evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed
  • Must be able to travel to support offsite experience programs or operations at other SpaceX sites

ITAR REQUIREMENTS:

  • To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. How Openbound evaluates sponsorship

Visa history uses official U.S. Department of Labor H-1B LCA disclosure data and USCIS H-1B petition history. Green card history uses DOL PERM disclosure data. Each is read for the employer as a whole, for roles like this one, and for this location, weighted toward the most recent fiscal years.

An employer is matched to its filing entities by verified legal name and reviewed aliases; a match is never made on a name resemblance alone. Where no verified entity can be matched, the page says so and draws no conclusion from the absence. 41 filing titles were examined for this employer.

What this posting states outranks history in both directions, and an employer's published policy outranks past filings. Filing history reflects past behavior; it is not a promise of sponsorship for this opening, and none of this is legal advice.
